The video starts with a close up of her Ipod, it cuts to her shoes and she walks showing her outfit. We done something similar however changed the props by using a mobile phone instead. Trying to give an element of comedy,in our parody we made the character swear to different shoes.Later in the original video she starts dancing with back round dancers, we also included this in our parody, making sure the parody doesn't look completely different to Lloyd's music video. Her body language shows some aspects of 'attitude' and again we tried adding this into parody.

Our parody
I think the filming of our parody music video went very well. We worked together as a team to achieve our goal of a 'successful' parody. whilst Palwasha looked into the song (Researcher) the others decided the costume and locations e.t.c. I think the best part of the task was filming,as we got to do crazy dance moves, and just have a bit of fun. However there are some gaps which we will need to keep in mind next time we make a parody. Although the filming was easy, editing the clips was a little hard, because we had to make sure that each shot went with the lyrics of the song.Personally i was not so happy with the editing, i think we could of done better. The last shot doesn't exactly match with the song, this is something we need to improve on. On the other hand our preparation for our parody music video, for example deciding the locations,costume... was a success and something i was happy with. We tried keeping some of the elements found in its original music video such as the outdoor location. We also used various camera angles/shots we included close ups, medium shot, long shots, to make the video seem much more interesting to watch. You could see through the mise en scene such as the props used for example two different pairs of shoes at the beginning that we wanted to create a comedy parody. I think this went well because of the characters making funny faces and the crazy dancing.

www excellent to use this as a kind of preliminary activity and something to show on your blog
ReplyDeleteebi your evaluation of roles is adequate but you haven't made it clear how you analysed the existing text before creating your own parody and which particular features of the text you sought to pastiche. There is little use of media language and this is therefore an area for growth.
